The Case Study Alpine Bed from Modernica Case Study Bed Collection is the first all bentwood frame built to last for generations. The Case Study Alpine bed frame is built almost entirely of bentwood, giving it both fluidity, strength and organic beauty. One of the first manufacturers to rediscover and relaunch out of production furniture by midcentury designers, Modernica embraces the modernist movement democratic ethos. Richard Neutra, George Nelson, Charles Eames, they were all concerned with making design available to the masses, explains Frank Novak, who owns the Los Angeles company with his brother, Jay. A commitment to expertise and authenticity served the brothers well in their efforts to resuscitate obsolete manufacturing methods. Take the Eames fiberglass shell chair, out of production since the 1980s. We tracked down the guys who developed the originals, says Frank Novak, who then spent two years getting the process up to speed.

The Case Study Alpine Bed is a Modernica midcentury design by Jay Novak. It consists of twenty structural plys of beech wood that are 1-1/8 thick and a top and bottom layer of North American Walnut veneer. The mattress supports are 100% recycled material powder coated to create a permanent barrier. The platform is crafted with perforated holes to allow a mattress to breath. The Case Study Alpine Bed will fit in perfectly with your modern home decor.
